The Octobers always knew they’d get married at the Black Oystercatcher venue

Even before Donald asked Violah to marry him, the couple had chosen their wedding venue. It was always going to be a Black Oystercatcher wedding – a celebration of love under the summer skies in our special corner of the Overberg.

Despite a few Covid-related delays, the Octobers finally said “I do” on a slightly overcast day in December.

Their décor and flowers created an elegant and classy fairy-tale evening, with lights and candles bringing a sense of magic. The couple also chose beautiful white flowers interspersed with greenery and hints of gold to light up the venue.

Antoinette Wedding and Events dished up a spectacular feast enjoyed by all the guests, perfectly paired with the Black Oystercatcher wines.

According to Violah and Donald, “Sandra and Jeannette were truly angels sent from heaven and assisted throughout the wedding planning process to create our beautiful, dream wedding day. The staff were welcoming and the scenery amazing. If we had to do the day over again, we wouldn’t change a thing!”

As husband and wife, the October couple danced the night away under the stars on our stoep with their nearest and dearest – celebrating their most intimate and special day in style.

The Black Oystercatcher is one of the prettiest venues that we looked at and marrying here was definitely the best choice we could make.

Our Wedding Venue

The wedding venue with a difference

We added a new venue to our centuries-old farmstead in 2016. It’s a venue that merges perfectly with the rich Overberg country: glass doors and windows all around, connecting you to nature.

Exposed brick walls, wooden beams, and a large veranda leading out to the infinity pool. And beyond that, the stretching Agulhas Plain countryside. Find out more.
