Discover the Black Oystercatcher’s cool-climate wines

What makes Black Oystercatcher wines so distinctive? Our vineyards are situated near Africa’s southernmost tip, where the influence of the oceans, cooling winds and relatively low temperatures contribute to the character of our wines.

These conditions allow grapes to ripen slowly, helping to retain their natural acidity and develop the flavours for which Elim wines are known.

A visit to Black Oystercatcher offers an opportunity to taste these characteristics for yourself, from our Sauvignon Blanc to our red wines. And for those who enjoy exploring different vintages, ask about our comparative and vertical tastings.

Enjoy a little more time on the farm

There’s no need to rush off after your tasting. Our veranda overlooks the Nuwejaars wetlands, offering a peaceful setting to enjoy a glass of wine and something to eat.

Stay a little longer, order a platter and enjoy the views across this remarkable part of the Overberg.

Explore our antipasto platters.

What Visitors Say

Great winery

“We were driving by and recognized the name as we just had a bottle of their Sauvignon Blanc at a restaurant last week. We stopped for a tasting and left with a 7 bottle assortment of their wines. The white is my favorite but I liked the Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot blend as well.”ย – DixiePeach, Kansas City
