Wedding | Merisha and Mark

Little could stop this couple from saying, “I do”

For the Engel family, fortune smiled kindly upon them, and they were afforded the opportunity to say “I do” in the midst of much uncertainty. In fact, lockdown restrictions were lifted only ONE WEEK before their wonderful wedding day at Black Oystercatcher Wines.

It was the perfect day in the Overberg to play host to Merisha and Mark on their special day. Tables were decorated beautifully with white roses, daisies, ferns and pennygum – creating an elegant and romantic atmosphere in our Black Oystercatcher venue.

On the menu, the Engel couple chose a harvest feast of canapés as a starter option, with the main meal consisting of steak and seasonal vegetables.

According to Jeanette Human, our wedding event organiser at the Black Oystercatcher, “The Engel couple is truly so in love. I’m delighted that we could help make their wedding dreams come true.

The Black Oystercatcher is one of the prettiest venues that we looked at and marrying here was definitely the best choice we could make.

Our Wedding Venue

The wedding venue with a difference

We added a new venue to our centuries-old farmstead in 2016. It’s a venue that merges perfectly with the rich Overberg country: glass doors and windows all around, connecting you to nature.

Exposed brick walls, wooden beams, and a large veranda leading out to the infinity pool. And beyond that, the stretching Agulhas Plain countryside. Find out more.
