A picture-perfect wedding makes up for the long wait

Despite several postponements as a result of Covid, Kayla and Rinaldo finally united in marriage at the Black Oystercatcher venue in December 2021. For Kayla, with her naturally positive outlook, this delay only made her wedding day even better. “I can wholeheartedly say that it was worth the wait.”

Kayla and Rinaldo are both from Bredasdorp. That’s one of the reasons they chose the Black Oystercatcher venue. “Growing up in Bredasdorp, we knew that the Black Oystercatcher Wines was the venue for us as it felt the most like home. And Sandra and Jeanette made us feel so comfortable throughout the whole planning process.”

The couple said “I do” in the beautiful Moravian Church in Elim. From there they headed to their “picture-perfect” reception at the Black Oystercatcher. Their wonderful theme was rustic chic with a black colour theme – with splashes of greens filling the tables and the roof, by Carin Groenewald Events.

The food was catered by Antoinette Events, and didn’t disappoint. “Our guests are still talking about the food to this day,” says Kayla.

Despite a windy day on the Agulhas Plain, photographer Edo Mostert captured the day to perfection. According to Kayla, “It was the BEST day of our lives and we are so grateful to everyone who made it so special.”

The Black Oystercatcher is one of the prettiest venues that we looked at and marrying here was definitely the best choice we could make.

Our Wedding Venue

The wedding venue with a difference

We added a new venue to our centuries-old farmstead in 2016. It’s a venue that merges perfectly with the rich Overberg country: glass doors and windows all around, connecting you to nature.

Exposed brick walls, wooden beams, and a large veranda leading out to the infinity pool. And beyond that, the stretching Agulhas Plain countryside. Find out more.
