Nicole is the Restaurant & Function Manager at Black Oystercatcher. “I have had a passion for cooking from a very young age and often took over my mom’s kitchen, going to study Hospitality and Catering after school was the natural option. Working as head chef at a local country lodge straight out of college was an incredible opportunity to learn very quickly. After a 2 year stint in the UK and Scotland I joined the Black Oystercatcher Team and have been here for almost 5 years.”
“I have lived in the Overberg since the age of 13 and I just love it, the area is so rich in character, landscape and amazing people, not forgetting the great produce that is available locally. Living here in Bredasdorp and working out on the farm really offers the best of both worlds as we are only a stone’s throw from Hermanus and Cape Town, 15 minutes drive to a beautiful beach and then the tranquility of the county side.
Our most popular dishes are probably the salads and the steak pan, the guest just love seeing all the fresh produce in the garden and then seeing it being used on their plates. Our cheese platters are also great to sit and have a good visit/ catch-up around.
At the Black Oystercatcher Restaurant, we live by the season. We serve fresh produce that grows in our own garden as the seasons dictate. As a result, we offer an organic dining experience, set in a relaxed country atmosphere. Here fresh food, complementing our boutique wines, is prepared to order and enjoyed at leisure.”
