Black Oystercatcher will co-host the #discoverOverberg Twitter wine chat on Wednesday 15 July. In the hour between 12pm and 1pm, we’ll be discussing what makes the Overberg region’s wines so special.
The Overberg is not as well-known as its peers, including Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, as a wine destination. However, the region is gaining increasing prominence due to the wide range of wines available here, as well as their unique traits.
At the recent Decanter World Wine Awards, three of South Africa’s five winners in the International Trophies category came from the Overberg. Even within the Overberg, wine regions are known to have differing characteristics.
The #discoverOverberg chat will open the floor for all to comment on their favourite Overberg wine regions, favourite wines, and the wine farms where one can enjoy a day out.
To participate, join the #discoverOverberg platform on Twitter at 12pm on 15 July, and give your answers to the three questions. Remember to include #discoverOverberg in your tweets.
The three questions are:
Q1 Which #discoverOverberg wine region is your favourite – and why? Share photos.
Q2 What are your favourite wines from the Overberg? #discoverOverberg
Q3 Which wine farms @intheOverberg would you recommend visiting for tasting/daytrip/weekend/meal? #discoverOverberg
