December at the Black Oystercatcher will provide entertainment to locals and visitors alike. The Black Oystercatcher is hosting its annual Season Programme during the December holidays. Tickets are available at Webtickets or a Pick n Pay near you.

The Black Oystercatcher Sauvignon Blanc and Oyster Festival takes place on 26 and 27 December. This annual festival presents the winery’s cool-climate Sauvignon Blanc, paired with the freshest local oysters – together making it the perfect summer’s day.

Aside from the wine and food, visitors will be entertained by Stellenbosch-based singer and songwriter, Gerald Clarke. Clark’s acoustic Afrikaans album, ‘Sweepslag’, was nominated as the best Afrikaans Alternative Music Album at the South African Musicians and Artists awards in 2009.

The following day, on 28 December, the Black Oystercatcher hosts the Black Oystercatcher Vineyard to Wetland Cycle Challenge and Festival – a day of activities: 37km and 14km mountain bike rides, and a 5km fun run. The races take athletes through the rugged agricultural lands, through the region’s biodiversity-rich fynbos and between the winery’s vineyards. Gian Groen will entertain visitors throughout the day.

On 29 December, the Black Oystercatcher Traditional Food and Music Day at the Restaurant will offer traditional South African cuisine, including tripe, Malva Pudding and other SA favourites, with the Baardskeerderbos Orkes.
