Summer Festival at the Black Oystercatcher
Five days. Live bands. Cool-climate wines & craft beer. And a whole lot of fun.
The Black Oystercatcher brings old and new friends together during our summer holiday season. It’s time to unwind and cool off in the Overberg countryside.
Here’s the programme:
26-27 December: The Bottomless Coffee Band plays all the folk rock favourites.
28-29 December: The Blues Broers and the Back Pocket Band bring a touch of the blues (and their rock sounds) to the Black Oystercatcher.
30 December: And for the FIRST time, Arno Carstens performs at our venue.
You won’t go hungry… Our Kitchen will be pairing our cool-climate wines and craft beer with a tasty array of menu options.
Ocean-fresh fish, Gourmet burgers and more will be on offer at the festival.
And this year, enjoy pizza, pies and platters from our Pop-up Deli
(here’s a tip: finish it off with your summertime ‘Droomys’ refresher).
Some administrative points:
Festivals open at 10am daily. Closing time is 5pm. Have your tickets ready at the gate.

The musicians – and why you shouldn’t miss them
This folk-rock duo return to the Black Oystercatcher.
Firm favourites in the Overberg, and especially at our venue, we couldn’t host a festival without sharing the talents of Lourens and Esté Rabé. They’ll be singing songs of life, love, blues and breakfast (including some of their brand new hits, like ‘Anthelia’).
This talented blues rock band returns to the Black Oystercatcher this year – pairing just perfectly with a nice cold craft beer in the Overberg.
The Blues Broers have been around since 1989, and know how to entertain a crowd. Look out for songs from their brand new album, ‘Into the Red’ – undoubtedly to be featured at our festival.
This is a first time visit to the Black Oystercatcher for the Back Pocket Band. And we look forward to hearing their funk, rock, pop and soul sounds during our festival. This band is all about high energy.
This legend of the South African music scene performs for the FIRST TIME at the Black Oystercatcher.
You may know him from the Springbok Nude Girls days. And today he performs as a solo artist – which includes the release of his debut Afrikaans album to honour his roots. Arno has won 5 SAMA Awards, and has performed with U2, The Rolling Stones and REM. Need we say more?

Sure, we make wine at the Black Oystercatcher (and hopefully really great wine)…
